If you are an electrical or maintenance contractor and regularly carry out work at height, explore our range of access platforms including electric cherry pickers (articulating boom lifts) and scissor lifts both for sale or hire. Our fleet of access platforms features MEWPs fit for indoor installations, maintenance or internal electrical work, making them ideal for electricians, electrical contractors and mechanical engineers.
Whether you’re working indoors installing electrical cables or installing CCTV and signage, you need safe equipment such as quality mechanical scissor lifts or cherry pickers to effectively run your projects. As a trusted access platform provider with an extensive fleet and nationwide coverage, we can help you find the most reliable lifting equipment for your jobs.
At Horizon Platforms, we have many years of experience supplying contractors and engineers in the electrical and mechanical industry, which has allowed us to build up a great understanding of their requirements. To ensure we’re able to meet customer expectations, we’ve amassed a fleet of mechanical elevated working platforms and scissor lifts which are suitable for these applications. Whether it's a one-off job or long-term contract hire, at Horizon Platforms, we'll help find the right tools for your job.
There are some important questions you should ask yourself before choosing an access platform to make sure that you make the right decision. One of which is ‘Are operators properly IPAF trained and have the correct licence?’. Depending on which licences they have this may mean that there are certain MEWPs they can’t operate, so you know which ones to avoid.
Does the application require you to lift vertically or to reach at an angle, perhaps to gain access over an obstacle? If the answer is yes, then you need to choose a MEWP such as an articulating boom lift which offers you this kind of manoeuvrability. Other access platforms such as vertical scissor lifts, whilst great for many other applications, won’t be suitable for this one.
Knowing whether you’ll be working indoors or outdoors is also important as it will help you determine whether you need an electric-powered access platform and whether you need additional features such as non-marking tyres and nappies.
At Horizon Platforms, we believe that safe work at height is of paramount importance. We have established policies and procedures which have helped us to meet the standards required for ISO 45001 accreditation.
