This IPAF training course will teach an operator to properly conduct a Pre-Delivery Inspection on various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) to ensure that they meet legal safety requirements. Completion of the training course will ensure that the candidate obtains an IPAF INSP Licence. Book nowThe IPAF Pre-Delivery Inspection training course covers all of the relevant topics to MEWP inspections. As part of the theory work, you will be taught the appropriate legislation and legal requirements to carry out a PDI for MEWPs in specific categories.
You will also learn about common MEWP faults so that you are able to identify any issues with the machinery and amend them before accidents occur. You will also be taught to identify how the condition of the MEWP could potentially increase risk due to its condition. This knowledge is crucial to knowing when to pass or fail an access platform that has had an inspection.
Other crucial aspects of the course will cover teamwork, including group-led practicals and giving the candidates hands-on experience. This is important as inspectors typically work as part of a team, often with other IPAF-trained workers such as operators and managers.
Once the IPAF training has been completed, the course will conclude with a testing phase. This will consist of a theory and a practical test, to ensure that candidates can express the necessary knowledge across all aspects.
