*** Update ***
Unfortunately due to horrendous weather conditions and under the advisement of the Yorkshire 3 peaks organisers, the event scheduled for the 7th has had to be postponed.
We have however re-scheduled the event for the 15th September.

After much debate on the Horizon summer event this year, we have decided on something a little different.
Eighteen dedicated Horizon Platforms staff have volunteered to walk the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks. The walk consists of the three highest climbs in Yorkshire over 25 miles and all in less than 12 hours.
The walk is taking place in aid of local charity, Wakefield Hospice. Wakefield Hospice is a purpose-built specialist palliative care unit that opened in April 1990 providing 8 single ensuite bedrooms and 2 four bed ward areas, a Day Care Unit, bereavement support and education.
Over the years the Day Care Unit developed initially into a Day Therapy Unit and ultimately into a Drop-In Centre providing therapies, information and care for patients, carers and bereaved families.
Obviously none of this comes cheap, and the hospice relies heavily on donations from the local area. With this in mind any contribution whatever the amount would be massively appreciated and used to really make an impact on a life in the local area.

The event gets underway on the 7th July, bright and early at 7am. Please keep an eye on the Horizon Blog to see how we all got on.
