A FUNDRAISER scaled new heights to raise money for a brave young tot who suffers from cystic fibrosis. Lisa Blinkhorn, 33, did a skydive from 15,000ft to raise money for three-year-old AmeliaMcNamara, from Wythenshawe. The girl was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis shortly after birth and needs a special vest to improve her quality of life.
Lisa and 40 sky-diving accomplices from Red Star White Collar Boxing are on track to raise a massive £7,000 to pay for a cystic fibrosis vest for Amelia following their efforts. This vest will dramatically reducing the amount of time Amelia needs to spend in physiotherapy and will enable her to breathe more easily.
Lisa, an account manager at Horizon Platforms’ Warrington depot, said: “I was very nervous but the experience was amazing and one I will never forget. “Because I’ve known Amelia and her extended family for many years, I’ve seen the day-to-day challenges they face and understand what a difference this vest could make. It will mean she can spend quality time living life as a child should, playing in the garden or riding her bike with her friends.”
