Along with businesses across the nation, the Horizon family donned their cosiest, wackiest, most spectacular festive knit for Christmas Jumper Day – raising worthy funds for Save the Children. The whole team was dealt a healthy dose of festive spirit, so much so that when jolly jumpers didn’t meet our strict health and safety standards our Service Team gave their work gear some Christmas cheer.
At Horizon, we’re raised locally and so our team is always looking to give back to our community. That’s why we took the opportunity to do as much as we could on the day to raise vital funds to help change children’s lives around the world. With guess games, finger food and a host of star baking, the team clubbed together to handover nearly £200 to the worthy cause.
It was quite the display of woolly wonders, so it was tough to pick a favourite. However, we were all won over by Kelly – our Cross Hire Manager – and her amazing elf outfit.
And, certainly, not everyone wore a woolly to fundraise on the day. At Horizon we always make sure that safety is paramount, whether it’s on our own site or in helping our partners work safely at height with our expert IPAF training courses. In our warehouses, festive knits didn’t stand up to our strict health and safety standards – with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) taking a priority. As we’d advise for all work at height, on site our team wear hi-visibility clothing, safety boots and bump caps. Accidents can happen with any manual work, so ensuring your operators are safe and well-equipped is a must-do for any company.
Each day, our Service Team works hard to keep our fresh fleet of access platforms fit as fiddles for all your hire needs. Our warehouse is a bustling hub of activity. The team will assess each machine as it comes into the warehouse, address any issues, then prepare it to be dispatched again to help your work at height. With nearly 1000 platforms housed in our new state-of-the-art premises they’re kept busy making sure that we always have the right tool for the job ready to be shipped out whenever you need it. Plus, with next day delivery available for our core machines, they need to be poised to spring into action as soon as you get in touch.
So, when woollies weren’t an option, the team made sure their safety gear still had plenty of Christmas cheer – and what a sight! With Santa and turkey hats and a host of antlers, our Service Team made sure to join in the fun whilst playing it safe with PPE.
It was testament to the great family we have here at Horizon that all made a stellar effort on the day. Whether it’s in the office, the warehouse, or out delivering to you, our team will always make sure we put people first. So, from all of us here at Horizon: Happy Christmas!
